Governor Andrew Cuomo will convene a summit of New York’s higher education and political leaders soon to consider a proposal from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo to give that university greater autonomy with respect to its tuition policies and control over physical assets.
The Public Higher Education Empowerment and Innovation Act, included in the 2010- Executive Budget, proposes significant changes in the funding of New York State's system of public higher education.
